We had a very nice room, no. 33, which looks out over de market place and has a view on the Xanten Dom. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I definitely would recommend it.
We decided to eat in the hotel restaurant but we regret it a little. We arrived at 21.15h, apparently late for German standards because the waitress did not give us the feeling that we were welcome (e.g. looking at her watch when we asked for the English version of the menu). Although the food was very good, the restaurant should really consider to hire a interior designer.

The hotel was centrally located in main square of the charming town of Xanten, it had tables outside in the square you could not have asked for a more central location. We booked bed and breakfast. The room was excellent, had everything we could need and was spotless. The breakfast was excellent. Germany was experiencing a heatwave during the time we stayed and the hotel were thoughtful to place a large fan in our room which was enough to keep us cool during the night.

Had a blast at this family-run hotel, right in the center of that ancient Roman town. A ticket service? Oh, how fancy. And not just one, but TWO bowling alleys! WiFi everywhere, because who can live without it?
Oh, those charming cathedral bells ringing every 15 minutes. Music to my sleep-deprived ears, I must say.

A hotel right in front of the market square, with a lot of historic attractions nearby. They serve delicious food, including vegetarian options. They even have 2 bowling alleys - because, you know, who doesn't love bowling in a hotel?
Stairs to the elevator? What a brilliant design choice!
